Camerimage Film Festival is not only about screenings of feature and documentary films and music videos. All participants can also attend numerous workshops, lectures, exhibitions and meetings with our distinguished guests who come to Bydgoszcz to share their expertise and experiences.
We would like to remind you that this year's Camerimage Lifetime Achievement Award will go to Chris Menges, British cinematographer with career spanning over 50 years; a trusted collaborator of Ken Loach, Stephen Frears, Neil Jordan and Stephen Daldry, and two-time Oscar winner for his cinematography on Roland Joffé's The Killing Fields and The Mission. Chris will join us this year as our guest of honour and will meet with Festival audience after selected screenings of his work.
Once again, the Festival program will feature the "Remembering the Masters" section with tributes paid to the outstanding achievements and remarkable talent of cinematographers who were true cinematic visionaries of the 20th century. This year, we will present a retrospective of the works by Swedish cinematographer Gunnar Fischer (1910 – 2011), known for his collaboration with the legendary Ingmar Bergman on such films as The Seventh Seal and Wild Strawberries.
Additionally, we will introduce a new – and surely destined to be widely popular – section called First Look – TV Pilots Competition. We are going to screen the freshest and hottest TV titles from around the world. All competition entries will be judged by a professional jury. We also plan to hold several panel discussions with leading showrunners and other industry professionals.
This is just a taste of what you will have the chance to see during the 23rd edition of CAMERIMAGE. Soon we will start announcing other program details. Stay in touch and visit www.camerimage.pl.
We invite everyone to participate in this year's edition.
See you soon!!!
