CAMERIMAGE AMONG PLACES AND INSTITUTIONS BUILDING A STRONG INTERNATIONAL IMAGE OF POLAND!
Thursday October 2nd, 2014
We are proud to announce that the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography CAMERIMAGE was featured on the BRIEF magazine's list of events, institutions and places with the greatest potential of building the international image of Poland as a strong, innovative and economically reliable country. The list was made to celebrate 25 years of Polish freedom.
The Festival was featured among such cultural events as The International Chopin Piano Competition, Open’er Festival and Woodstock Festival and institutions like Solidarity and The Lodz Film School. The honorary distinctions was presented during the BRIEF magazine's official ceremony, held on the 2nd of October 2014. Marek Żydowicz, Camerimage Festival Director and originator, collected the distinction on the Festival's behalf.
The organizers wrote in their press release, "For Marek Żydowicz the idea behind the Festival was to emphasize the importance of cinematographers as co-creators of the visual side of films. The Golden, Silver, and Bronze Frogs, the Festival main prizes, are presented to the outstanding work in the area of cinematography in a given year. Moreover, Camerimage, defined as the international celebration of the power of cinema, is a wonderful place for discussion about all aspects of film art. The Festival is visited by many cinematographers, directors and actors of worldwide fame. Exhibitions, concerts, seminars and workshops that can be found in Camerimage's program present the golden opportunity for students from film schools and aspiring filmmakers to gather more knowledge and experience."
