The summer of 1964. Two FBI agents – Alan Ward, a tight-jawed stickler for protocol and his partner, Rupert Anderson, an experienced Southern law enforcement officer who knows how to handle people – head the government’s investigation into the disappearance of three human rights activists in East Mississippi, where strict racial segregation prevails. The conspiracy of silence of the locals in the area makes it difficult for the agents to investigate the case.
