Since his breakout role as a railroad-loving solitary man in Tom McCarthy’s The Station Agent Peter Dinklage has become one of the most polyvalent actors of the 21st century. He shines in each and every film he starts in, infusing his characters with an amalgam of human warmth, idiosyncratic humour and screen charisma. Whether he is a mysterious funeral-crasher in Frank Oz’s pitch black British comedy Death at a Funeral, weapons designer in Bryan Singer’s superhero extravaganza X-Men: Days of the Future Past, meek and dignified man trying to cope with his crush on a woman who is not interested in him in Martin McDonagh’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, this year’s festival juror Reed Morano’s film I Think We’re Alone Now, a crime lord with a secret in J Blakeson’s I Care a Lot, the famous wordsmith Cyrano de Bergerac in Joe Wright’s musical adaptation Cyrano, and charming and morally ambiguous fan-favourite Game of Thrones character Tyrion Lannister. For this last role Peter Dinklage was awarded with four Primetime Emmys, among many other distinctions.
It is our great pleasure to announce that this brilliant performer will come to Toruń to meet with EnergaCAMERIMAGE participants and present them with his latest cinematic marvel, Rebeca Miller’s She Came to Me, this year’s edition Closing Film, as well as to accept the Festival Director’s Award For an Actor. We could not imagine a better artist to receive this special award and become a member of our ever-growing family.
