The EnergaCAMERIMAGE International Film Festival, held in Toruń in Kujawy Pomorze Region, will conclude on Saturday, November 22, with a special screening of Song Sung Blue. This musical drama directed by Craig Brewer and shot by cinematographer Amy Vincent will serve as a unique finale to this year’s edition of the festival.

Song Sung Blue is a moving story inspired by Greg Kohs’ 2008 documentary about a couple from Milwaukee - Mike and Claire Sardina - who form a tribute band dedicated to the music of Neil Diamond. The film stars Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson in the leading roles. Cinematographer Amy Vincent, known for her collaboration with Brewer on such films as Hustle & Flow and Footloose, is responsible for the film’s visual style. It is she who will introduce the screening in Toruń.

The film combines elements of biography, music, and melodrama, with its visual form playing a crucial role in telling a story about passion, love, and art. Song Sung Blue was produced by Universal Pictures and will be released in wide distribution in December 2025.

The choice of this title for the EnergaCAMERIMAGE finale is no coincidence. Craig Brewer’s film is one in which image and music form a cohesive whole, with the camera work becoming one of the main means of expressing emotion. We couldn’t imagine a better conclusion to this year’s edition. Song Sung Blue beautifully and sensitively portrays the power of image and sound in cinema.

The screening of Song Sung Blue, introduced by the film’s cinematographer Amy Vincent, will take place on Saturday, November 22, as part of the official closing ceremony of the 33rd edition of the EnergaCAMERIMAGE International Film Festival in Toruń.
