The 33rd EnergaCAMERIMAGE International Film Festival is underway in Toruń. This year’s edition is being honored by the presence of a very special guest visiting Poland for the first time – Kristen Stewart, one of the most intriguing and versatile actresses of contemporary cinema, appearing this time in a role quite different from the one known to the wider public: as a director.

The Chronology of Water – Kristen Stewart’s feature-length directorial debut and an adaptation of the autobiographical novel by Lydia Yuknavitch – premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, where it was met with enthusiastic reception from both critics and audiences. The production captivated viewers with its bold form, emotional intensity, and the impressive performance of Imogen Poots. At EnergaCAMERIMAGE, the film will be presented as part of the Directors’ Debuts Competition.
With extraordinary sensitivity, the filmmakers tell the story of a woman struggling with her past, addiction, and longing for redemption, immersing the audience in a poetic and visually evocative world. After its world premiere in Cannes, the film received long standing ovations and numerous praises for its directorial maturity and exceptional narrative power. The Chronology of Water quickly became one of the most talked-about titles of the festival and is shaping up to be one of the most important films of the year.
