For more than 30 years, the artists who have been transforming the language and imagery of cinema have come together at ToruńCAMERIMAGE. The experience of some meets the imagination of others, as masters pass the secrets of their craft on to new generations of artists. What unites them is the courage to pursue their dreams. The ToruńCAMERIMAGE 2026 poster tells the story of precisely that extraordinary moment when anything is possible.
This year’s poster grew out of an idea by Marek and Paweł Żydowicz (the Director of ToruńCAMERIMAGE and Vice President of the TUMULT Foundation) which was brought to life by concept artist and illustrator Michał Sawtyruk.
It is a story about looking beyond the horizon and returning to the roots of human creativity. About a child’s curiosity, leading towards new possibilities. And about the belief that the greatest stories always begin with imagination.
What will you see if you sit down beside the boy and the frog?
“Everything in our lives begins with dreams. We try to understand them, only to encounter new mysteries. Thankfully, the magic of this process knows no bounds. It is a powerful force that enables us to grow, ‘move mountains,’ soar into the unknown and change the world,” says Marek Żydowicz, Founder and Director of ToruńCAMERIMAGE, when asked what inspired this year’s poster theme.
Every Generation Needs a Place Where Dreams Are Born
The idea of the European Film Center CAMERIMAGE grew out of the very same conviction. A place where creative sensitivity can mature and new possibilities emerge. A place that helps bring imagined worlds to the cinema screen. And, ultimately, a place where yesterday meets tomorrow. The film studio - and, in the future, the entire complex - is intended to become a space where new generations can meet masters of the craft, ask questions, discover their own language and shape the future of cinema with courage.
“The European Film Center CAMERIMAGE now taking shape is our shared declaration that it is right here, in Toruń, that we want to create a space where new generations of filmmakers can meet masters of the craft and boldly pursue their dreams,” adds Paweł Gulewski, Mayor of Toruń.

Michał Sawtyruk is a Polish concept artist and illustrator based in Warsaw. His work is distinguished by cinematic composition, expressive lighting and a combination of realism and graphic stylisation. He works on film and animation projects for studios including Netflix, Sony, Illumination and Nexus Studios, and more recently NOMINT. He also shares his expertise by creating online courses.
