In this social drama, the realistic, colour-restrained cinematography by Stephen H. Burum, which was Oscar®-nominated and awarded by the ASC, helps the audience focus on the fate of James R. Hoffa, the charismatic but controversial founder and leader of the US International Brotherhood of Teamsters. An unforgettable impression is made by the crowd scenes, for which Burum undoubtedly deserves credit: the camera draws the audience into the whirlwind of events that sometimes turn violent.
