Declaring that any motion picture is “one-of-a-kind” is probably among the most clichéd and overused ways to illustrate its merits and the creativity that went into making it. The simple truth is, the majority of films – even if they have unique elements to them – are comparable to other films in one way or another. And there is nothing wrong with that.
That said, there exists a small number of motion pictures that are literally one-of-a-kind, and Sir Alan Parker’s Pink Floyd: The Wall is one of them. An impressive rock opera of a music album transported into the realm of visual images and filtered and expanded through the imagination of a group of brilliant storytellers such as director Sir Alan Parker (frequent EnergaCAMERIMAGE guest and recipient of Lifetime Achievement Award to the Director with Unique Visual Sensitivity), this year’s EnergaCAMERIMAGE Lifetime Achievement Award recipient cinematographer Peter Biziou, and actor/musician Bob Geldof.
A cinematic marvel that uses a variety of evocative means of expression – from powerful live-action to symbol-filled animation, from wild satire about dangerous human impulses to poignant and increasingly topical drama about the walls we build to isolate ourselves from others – that is best experienced on a big screen. It is our pleasure to announce that you will have a chance to watch Pink Floyd: The Wall on a big screen during this year’s edition of EnergaCAMERIMAGE and attend a Q&A afterwards to listen to cinematographer Peter Biziou supported by actor/musician Bob Geldof discussing different aspects of bringing the film to life.
Pink Floyd: The Wall’s special screening is set to wow EnergaCAMERIMAGE 2023 audiences on Tuesday, Nov 14, at 8:30PM, in the Main Screening Room of CKK Jordanki Festival Centre.
We count to see you there, and let’s experience it together!
