Traumatised after being randomly assaulted on his way home from work, Dermot has moved into his office. An operator of the emergency help intercom for a tram service, he is tacitly assisted by his sympathetic boss Richard. Gordon, a young homeless man, rings the help intercom after suffering a similar attack, and the two begin to forge a connection over their shared sense of isolation. When Gordon asks Dermot for help, Dermot must face his trauma head on to save his friend and begin the path of healing himself.
