The film tells a poignant story of emigration that combines the moral convictions of Galician peasants and their difficult social situation, which forced them to leave their native lands for Canada in large numbers. Leonid Osyka approaches this topic with modesty and reservation. He seems to play a single instrument while creating a rich and deep composition, which acquires a calmer and a more balanced character. The movie closely approaches reality, while, at the same time, remaining hypnotically surreal.
