It is our distinct pleasure to announce that the second opening feature of the 23rd edition of the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography CAMERIMAGE will be The Danish Girl, directed by Tom Hooper and with cinematography by Danny Cohen. The special screening will be a part of the grand Opening Gala, and will be introduced by Danny Cohen

The remarkable love story inspired by the lives of artists Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener. Lili and Gerda's marriage and work evolve as they navigate Lili's groundbreaking journey as a transgender pioneer. The film stars Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander, with Matthias Schoenaerts, Amber Heard, Ben Whishaw and Sebastian Koch in supporting roles.

The creative team behind Tom Hooper'sThe Danish Girl includes Academy Award® nominated cinematographer Danny Cohen (The King's Speech, Room), editor Melanie Oliver (Les Misérables, Anna Karenina), three-time Academy Award® nominated production designer Eve Stewart (Topsy-Turvy, The King's Speech), Academy Award® winnig composer Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Argo) and Academy Award® nominated costume designer Paco Delgado (Les Misérables, The33).

The premiere Camerimage screening will be held on 14th November in Opera Nova's Main Screening Room in Bydgoszcz. The Danish Girl will have its Polish release on 22nd January 2016. Polish distributor: United International Pictures Sp. z o. o.

The screening of The Danish Girl will be a part of Camerimage 2015 Opening Gala, to which you need an invitation. However, subject to availability of free seats, we will admit holders of festival passes.
